Jussie Smollett is officially a free man.
For, the former ‘Empire’ star has now been released from jail after serving mere days behind bars.

Following a decision by an Illinois Appellate Court to cut short his 150-day sentence pending appeal, Smollett officially walked out of a Cook County Jail.
In the new video obtained by TMZ, Smollett can be seen surrounded by members of his defense team, family, and his supporters. He remained silent as he left, but his attorney – Nenye Uche – told the assembled media that his client only drank water over the past 6 days and ate no food whatsoever.
Previously, Smollett had been convicted for orchestrating a staged hate crime in 2019. The star has always retained his innocence.
The news of his release comes after several stars and family members have spoken out and called for his release.
